Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how eSign PDF, provided by Rational Studio, accesses and handles information when you use the application.
1. Information We Access
eSign PDF may access information only when it is needed to provide a feature you choose to use.
Documents and PDF files
When you choose to open, read, edit, sign, merge, split, compress, convert, or otherwise process a PDF, the app accesses the file you selected through Android's file-selection system.
Signatures
Signatures that you draw, type, or import may be stored locally on your device so that you can reuse them when signing documents.
Photos and images
If you choose the image or signature-upload feature, eSign PDF may access an image that you select from your device. If a camera-based scanning feature is used, camera access is requested only when you initiate that feature.
App preferences
Settings such as Light/Dark/System theme, language choice, default PDF view, and similar preferences may be saved locally on your device.
2. How We Use Information
Information accessed by eSign PDF is used to provide features such as:
- opening and displaying PDF documents;
- placing signatures, text, dates, checkmarks, and images on documents;
- creating and saving reusable signatures;
- editing, converting, or organizing PDF files;
- saving/exporting edited or signed documents;
- sharing files when you explicitly choose the Share option; and
- remembering your in-app preferences.
3. Local Processing and Storage
The current version of eSign PDF is designed so that core PDF editing, PDF reading, and signature processing take place locally on your device. Documents and saved signatures are not intentionally uploaded to Rational Studio servers as part of these core features.
Files that you export or save remain in the storage location you select or in the app's local storage, depending on the feature used.
4. Sharing Your Documents
eSign PDF does not automatically share your documents. If you choose to share a signed or edited file, Android's system sharing interface may send that file to the application or service you select, such as an email or messaging app. The privacy practices of the receiving service are governed by that service's own privacy policy.
5. Permissions
Depending on the features you use and your Android version, eSign PDF may request access needed to:
- select and open documents;
- select images from your device;
- use the camera for document scanning or image capture, when initiated by you; and
- save or export files.
Permission requests are intended to be limited to the functionality you choose to use. You may manage app permissions through your Android device settings.
6. Data Sharing
Rational Studio does not sell your PDF documents, signatures, or selected images. The app does not intentionally disclose those files to third parties except when you explicitly choose to share or export content to another app or service.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Documents, signatures, and preferences stored locally remain on your device until you delete them, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app, subject to Android's storage behavior and any copies you have separately exported.
You can delete saved signatures and locally managed documents using available in-app controls where provided. You can also remove locally stored app data through Android system settings.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to design the app so that selected documents and signatures are handled only as needed for the requested feature. However, no method of electronic storage or device operation can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for protecting access to your device and for choosing secure services when sharing sensitive or confidential documents.
9. Children's Privacy
eSign PDF is a general productivity and document utility application and is not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly design the app to collect personal information from children through an account system.
10. Third-Party Services and Future Features
If future versions of eSign PDF add third-party services such as advertising, analytics, cloud storage, subscriptions, crash reporting, or other SDK-based services, this Privacy Policy will be updated to accurately describe the data those services access, collect, use, or share.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when app features, data practices, legal requirements, or third-party integrations change. The revised policy will show an updated “Last updated” date on this page.
